What are some of the cultural heroes that you think need to be resurrected? Let me know!

If it comes with rolled back prices on milk and eggs, you know I’ll be there 😉

The Walmart smiley face. He was always knocking down prices. I could really use his hard work right now.

Maybe he could partner with Master Chief to do a midnight release so kids could experience the thrill of waiting in line for hours to be one of the first to play the game!

We don’t have heroes anymore. The hero has been replaced with the victim. All the Western heroes—Charles Martel, Christopher Columbus, George Washington, etc.—are attacked with the most vile accusations and to be replaced with a real or imagined oppressed victim. In modern America being a member of an alleged victim group gives status and power.

The attack on our heroes is a strategy of the liberal left to completely deracinate the American people. Talk to a young adult today and he may tell you “we have no culture”. Once the American people have been completely disconnected from their history and traditions it is much easier for the revolutionaries to obtain power.

I played Halo 1 and Halo 2, but it was the original I played the most. Hours of playing in my college dorm room. The pistol was over powered if you had good aim. Three shot kills every time if you were good at it. However, despite the numerous hours I played Halo, I didn’t follow the story because I don’t know who Master Chief is.

So true! I had no idea the pistol was that overpowered until much later in life. We were a “Hang em’ High” family with all snipers.

One thing I didn’t mention was that the remake is going to allow for a lot of cooperative opportunities between both Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Should allow for some good nostalgia.

But the campaign was solid, and the story really capitulated a ton of people, though I don’t think many contemplated how much it influenced them, especially if they were playing MP most of the time.

But one thing is for sure, our culture, whether it is movies, games, or social media, it has become immersive rather than social. There is infinitely more value in a bunch of guys getting together, pwning newbs across the hall, than there is one guy playing online in lobbies with people he will never meet.

Atomization is a feature of pre-revolutionary cultures, but I think story that points back to God and neighbor can bring us back from the brink.

Before Halo, I grew up in the Golden Eye generation. We spent summers playing that game. This was before online gaming, so my friends and I would meet up at my parent’s house and play for hours. It was a social event. We would also have LAN parties and play Counter-Strike. With online gaming today a gamer could sit in isolation for days without communicating with anyone in person.

Yes! Paintball mode!

Yeah, there was that sad ad that was going around not too long ago. It showed guys getting together to game, and then slowly they fade away to a kid wearing headphones, checking his phone, and playing in a dark room by himself. Depressing!!!

Have you watched the Halo tv series? If so, is it worth watching?

I started it, and it’s not worth it. It’s a very bad approach to the franchise. Doesn’t honor the essence of Master Chief. He takes his helmet off in the second episode, which is completely counter to the games.

They also get woke with DEI stuff, there is nudity later, though I’m not sure I saw this in a trailer or if it was actually in one of the episodes. It just was basically taking the IP and making it entirely other than what the games made it: just a hero trying to save the universe.
